Ivo Couckuyt received his M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Antwerp (UA) in 2007.
In October 2007 he joined the research group Computer Modeling and Simulation (COMS) (now merged with CoMP), supported by a research project of the Fund for Scientific Research Flanders (FWO-Vlaanderen). Since January 2009 he is active as a PhD student in the research group Internet Based Communication Networks and Services (IBCN) at Ghent University, where he obtained the PhD degree in 2013. He is currently working as an FWO post-doctoral research fellow in the IBCN research group of the Department of Information Technology (INTEC) in the Faculty of Engineering at Ghent University, Belgium.
